May 2017: Veterinary Nurse Required

RVN or near-qualifying student nurse required as an addition to our busy but friendly and supportive small animal team. We are a RCVS tier 2 small animal surgery and recognised training practice with access to modern anaesthetic monitoring equipment including capnography, non-invasive blood pressure monitoring, ECG, pulse-oxymetry. We perform many procedures in-house including laparoscopic spays and biopsies alongside many other soft-tissue and orthopaedic procedures. We provide a full laboratory services including blood gas monitoring and microscopy, digital XRAY (DR) and modern ultrasonography.

We actively encourage CPD with our nurses previously achieving behaviour qualifications and working toward the diploma in advanced nursing.

The ideal candidate will be cheerful, confident in all areas of nursing and be very client-focussed. It is particularly important to have excellent communication skills as in additional to medical/surgical nursing, you will be expected to take part in nursing consultations, providing the highest standards of veterinary care to our clients.

May 2017: Veterinary Surgeon Required

We are an independent, purpose-built and progressive 1st opinion, RCVS accredited small animal practice within leafy, cosmopolitan Cheltenham. We believe in a relaxed working environment with an emphasis on work-life balance. We are looking for a vet to join us (full or part-time) with particular experience in small animal medicine and/or diagnostic imaging as our work-load in these areas increases. Post-graduate qualifications are an advantage. We have great facilities including flexible and rigid endoscopy (video), laparoscopy, DR XRAY, high-spec MyLab Ultrasound machines, tonometry and an in-house GE 16-slice CT. We host an OOH service so no on-call required and we perform comprehensive laboratory testing. You will be working alongside RCVS advanced practitioners in medicine and cardiology, other team members are currently undertaking certificates in medicine, surgery and anaesthesia.

The ideal candidate will be client-focussed and proficient in all areas of first opinion work but be capable of working-up internal medicine cases to a high level and developing their own areas of expertise within the practice. CPD encouraged and funded. We are also looking for a regular Saturday morning vet (9am-1pm).
