Veterinary Nurse Required

RVN required at our branch as an addition to our busy, but friendly and supportive small animal team.

We are looking for a nurse that will be based at our Upper Rissington branch located near Bourton-On-The-Water. This will involve being the sole nurse there with another vet and receptionist.

Dragon Vets Rissington is a recently refurbished practice opened in 2018. It is fully equipped with a digital x-ray machine, laboratory and theatre with operations taking place daily, and is practice standards core level.

We actively encourage CPD with our nurses previously achieving behaviour qualifications and working toward the diploma in advanced nursing.

The ideal candidate will be cheerful, confident in all areas of nursing and be very client-focused. It is particularly important to have excellent communication skills as in additional to medical/surgical nursing; you will be expected to take part in nursing consultations, providing the highest standards of veterinary care to our clients. You will also be expected to travel to other branches if cover is needed.

The hours of work are approx. 36 per week with two early finishes and no on-call; there will be a requirement for Saturday morning cover on a rota from Easter.

Dragon Vets is an ever expanding veterinary business that deals with small animals based in Gloucestershire. We have the main site at Cheltenham Racecourse and 4 other branches spread over the Cotswolds. Dragon Vets are expanding our team and we are looking for a full time receptionist at our very busy main branch at the Racecourse. At this site it is very busy so we would need someone that is able to multitask and prioritise accordingly and efficiently

The applicant needs also to be: very organised, confident  and enthusiastic and have excellent communication skills and a high level of customer service especially in regards to taking to clients. Proficient use of Microsoft  Office programs and the internet and cashing up is required. Veterinary experience beneficial not essential.

37.25 hours/week: Monday 10am-7pm, Tuesday 9am-3pm, Wednesday 9am-3pm, Thursday 10am-7pm, Friday 10am-7pm, Saturday 8am-1pm (1:4 rota) Salary dependant on experience

We also have another role for an evening receptionist
The hours will be 12.5 per week. Shifts will be 4.30pm-7pm.

We are currently looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly team at Dragon Vets in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. This is a full-time role working 39 hours per week over 4 days with 1 weekend in four (day shifts) and 3 days off following the weekend worked. There are no night shifts and no on call required for this role.

Our successful candidate will experience a varied caseload of insured clients allowing them to work-up cases to the highest standard. Time will be split between our main practice and our branches with opportunities to follow cases and use all our gadgets.

Located in the heart of Cheltenham, renowned for horse racing and a thriving bar/restaurant scene, Dragon Vets is the largest and most advanced practice in the area. We have invested in the latest equipment including CT, DR, rigid/flexible endoscopy, high-end Doppler ultrasono-graphy (GE Vivid IQ) and well-equipped operating facilities to provide our clients with the best possible service.

We are lucky to have several RCVS-advanced practitioners in medicine, surgery, and cardiology, meaning that we can manage most cases in-house and provide great support for colleagues interested in improving their skills. With 14 Veterinary Surgeons and 20 Veterinary Nurses there is plenty of opportunities for discussion of interesting cases and socialising.

Candidates must be committed to providing clinical excellence and happy with some periods of sole charge. You will be happy with the investigation/management of common medical presentations and basic surgical procedures.
