Opportunity for motivated vets to join our supportive team

Dragon vets is an 11 vet, independent practice in the lively Cotswold town of Cheltenham. We are lucky to have a large team of dedicated RVNs, RCVS advanced practitioners in medicine, surgery and cardiology, and fantastic facilities including in-house CT, DR, high-spec ultrasound, laparoscopy/endoscopy and multi-parameter anaesthetic monitors. We host an OOH clinic meaning that no OOH duties are required.

We have 2 positions available for experienced vets (2 years+). The first would suit a medic who is able to work-up their cases using our extensive facilities to a high degree, with support available as required. Post-graduate qualification desirable but not essential.  The second would suit an ‘all rounder’, confident with routine medical/surgical cases who would enjoy the challenge of setting-up/running a new branch practice with back-up from experienced colleagues. An attractive salary alongside the usual perks provided.

Veterinary Nurse Required

RVN required as an addition to our busy, but friendly and supportive small animal team. We are a RCVS tier 2 small animal surgery and recognised training practice with access to modern anaesthetic monitoring equipment including capnography, non-invasive blood pressure monitoring, ECG, pulse-oximetry. We perform many procedures in-house including laparoscopic spays and biopsies alongside many other soft-tissue and orthopaedic procedures. We provide a full laboratory services including blood gas monitoring and microscopy, digital XRAY (DR), modern ultrasonography and CT scanning.

We actively encourage CPD with our nurses previously achieving behaviour qualifications and working toward the diploma in advanced nursing.

The ideal candidate will be cheerful, confident in all areas of nursing and be very client-focused. It is particularly important to have excellent communication skills as in additional to medical/surgical nursing, you will be expected to take part in nursing consultations, providing the highest standards of veterinary care to our clients.
